Nursing Institute
LAMB's Nursing Institute officially opened on the 3rd March 2012, with 16 students and approval from the Government of Bangladesh. Medical, nursing, and other health staff rotate through the teaching schedule, which is in line with the Bangladesh Nursing Council curriculum.
The annual cost for each nurse is estimated at just £150, for each of the three years of training. Most trainees are from poorer backgrounds and these costs are partly met by 'loans'.
Once nurses complete their training, they are able to work for LAMB and return their 'loan', which can then be recycled to support future students.
